I am using VLC to play a serial of movies at a Film Festival. I need to disable the mouse wheel volume aligning (and so that the mouse wheel will non arrange the volume). It seems that I read that this preference had been added but I can't find it for the life of me.

The ability to create video playlists is a wonderful characteristic that is very helpful for this use. But I am worried about bumping the mouse cycle and bravado the business firm away with a big leap in the volume!

It'south well hidden indeed. Go to the Preferences console and switch to "all" at the lesser of the window. And then, navigate to the post-obit sub-category on the left hand side: Interface -> Hotkeys settings -> Hotkeys. There you'll find the option "Mouse Bike X-centrality Control", which you can fix to "Volume Control", "Position Control" or "Ignore".

Salve the settings later and restart VLC to allow your changes take event.

Thanks very much! I knew it had to exist there, just I guess I just didn't see that final level down from "Hotkeys settings -> Hotkeys".

Great programme. I appreciate all the hard work that goes into it.

I take set "Ignore" in MouseWheel x-axis Control, but why tin can't I disable the volume control and position control?

If I prepare "Ignore" in MouseWheel 10-axis Control, information technology also disables the position control!!!
And if I set it to Position, the OTHER axis gets volume control....... grrrrrr
Distressing, but this is stupid. Why is it mandatory to have both or none enabled?
I want my trackpad controlling position with left-right gestures, but ignoring upwards-down gestures. Is information technology also much to ask??

I empathise the demand for such an selection, nonetheless nobody implemented this so far, probably for ii reasons:
ane) we weren't aware of the need
2) nobody wanted to do that due to lack of fourth dimension or whatever. Remembering that this is a volunteer driven projects, and so near folks work on what they want to, but.
